As it stands right now, the Edmonton Oilers have the 22nd overall selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. So the question among fans is, what will that mean for the team's future? The Oilers have picked 22nd only once before, taking Marc Pouliot in 2003, but the team's current GM Kevin Lowe was selected 21st overall way back in 1979. In terms of point totals he's gotten progressively better with 36, 40 and 41 auburn football points. Last season he also got a career high 17 goals for the Worcester Sharks and saw his first playing time in San Jose with three appearances. 2003 Marc Pouliot, C - Edmonton OilersA name very familiar to Oilers fans, Marc Pouliot is coming off his finest season of professional hockey. After a rough start during which he was held pointless in nine games at the NHL level, Pouliot put up solid auburn football numbers in the AHL with Springfield. He had 21 goals and 47 points in 55 games, earning himself a recall back to the NHL. This time, he had seven points and showed some reliability defensively. Right now, the Oilers have him pencilled in for 2008-09. 2002 Sean Bergenheim, LW - NY IslandersAfter spending several seasons in the AHL, Bergenheim left the Islanders to play in Russia and Sweden in 2006 auburn football -07.
