EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) #8212;With the Miami Dolphins coming to town, cornerback Corey Webster(notes) knew his assignment before the New York Giantsdiscussed their gameplan.Webster will be paired against Brandon Marshall(notes) no matter where theDolphins #8217; big wide receiver lines up Sunday. There might be some plays the Giants either switch the coverage or elect toplay a zone, but for the college football results most part, coordinator Perry Fewell is assigning theopposition #8217;s top receiver to Webster. So far, it #8217;s working out. Two weeks ago in the Giants #8217; final game before thebye, Webster limited Bills standout Stevie Johnson(notes) to five catches for 39 yardsand one touchdown. He broke up three passes and intercepted two others, with thelast one igniting a late game-winning fourth- college football results quarter drive for New York (4-2).Fewell said the move was made to challenge Webster a bit. #8220;We did that a little last year in the second part of the season, when weplayed Philly, #8221; Fewell said. #8220;He really did a good job on (DeSean) Jackson, wethought, a year ago. We just thought, #8216;Hey let #8217;s challenge Corey a little bit.Let #8217;s give him some confidence and let #8217; college football results s let him see that we have confidencethat he can go out there and do this for us and we #8217;ll play around him. #8217; He #8217;sanswered the challenge. #8221;Earlier in his career, Webster was upset with the coaching staff for failingto assign him the best receiver. However, that wasn #8217;t necessary in recent yearswith Terrell Thomas(notes) playing the other cornerback spot. Both players wer college football results e good incoverage so it didn #8217;t make a difference. This year has been different though. Thomas suffered a knee injury in thepreseason and was lost for the season, pushing Aaron Ross(notes) back into a startingspot.Ross got off to a slow start this season, and his game didn #8217;t pick up untilhe was benched for a half against St. Louis in the second game of the season. That increased the press college football results ure on Webster and he is having a season worthy ofPro Bowl consideration despite playing in the shadow of the Jets #8217; DarrelleRevis(notes), who is the gold standard for NFL cornerbacks.Webster has his own method for judging how he plays. #8220;I want zero catches, #8221; he said Wednesday after the Giants practiced fortheir game against the winless Dolphins (0-6). #8220;It doesn #8217;t matte college football results r what receiverI am playing. I hold myself to a higher standard. I don #8217;t want to give out anycatches. I want to be a complete player. I like interceptions but if we don #8217;tget them, I don #8217;t harp on it. #8221;Webster is a seven-year veteran from LSU. #8220;We want to be a complete cornerback, so I want to come up, make tackles, bephysical with the receivers, #8221; he said. #8220;I college football results don #8217;t hang my hat on whether I #8217;m beingput on the best receivers. I #8217;m the same person every time. I want to be great nomatter which receiver lines up in front of me. #8221;Going against Marshall, Webster knows he is going to get a physical receiverwho likes to use his size to get position, something he equated to a basketballplayer boxing out for a rebound. The negative for Marsha college football results ll, whose 34 catches is third in the AFC, is that heis not as fast getting off the line of scrimmage. #8220;You want to stay close to him, plaster him, so he can #8217;t use his body, #8221;Webster said. #8220;You want to control the line of scrimmage. #8221;As far as the interceptions, Webster isn #8217;t worried about them. He didn #8217;thave any in the first five games and then came up with t college football results wo against RyanFitzpatrick(notes) and the Bills. #8220;We always say they come in bunches, #8221; Webster said. #8220;Sometimes you are doingwhat you are supposed to be doing as a cornerback or defensive back and you maynot get as many interceptions as you would like. As a DB, we want them all. Whenthe ball is in the air we want to put our hands on it when we have anopportunity. Sometimes you don college football results #8217;t get credit for staying close in coverage butyou know if you keep working hard the interceptions will come. #8221;Fewell said defensive backs always can #8217;t be judged solely on interceptions. #8220;I #8217;ll measure it by this; we don #8217;t call his name too much, #8221; Fewell said. #8220;I #8217;d like to keep it that way, except when he gets interceptions. #8221;The two intercept college football results ions by Webster tied his career high for a game, the lasttime coming against Dallas in 2008.NOTES: For the first time all season, the Giants had everyone practice. Itis expected that DE Justin Tuck(notes), RB Brandon Jacobs(notes) and G Chris Snee(notes) will allplay after sitting out against the Bills on Oct. 16. Rookie FB Henry Hynoski(notes)seems less likely as he continues to battle the effect college football results s of a neck injury thatsidelined him against Buffalo. #8230;First-round draft pick Prince Amukamara(notes) workedwith the scout team. It also appears the cornerback (broken foot) may have towait to make his NFL debut. Follow Yahoo! Sports' NFL coverage on Twitter. Updated 8 hours, 55 minutes ago college football results
