TORONTO -- Center fielder Adam Jones was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays with a swollen left ankle.Jones fouled a pitch off the ankle during his at-bat in the sixth inning of Friday's 2-0 victory over Toronto."[Jones] came in today, and his ankle where he fouled that ball off was pretty swollen," manager Buck Showalter said before Saturday's game. Jones probably could have daily record football played if needed, Showalter said, but the artificial turf at Rogers Centre and the fact that the O's were playing a day game following a night game also were factors in the decision. Jones' name appeared in the original pregame lineup. "If it's a night game and he's sitting with it elevated all day, it might be different," Showalter said. "And we've played in three cities in three days."The change daily record football meant that Nick Markakis, who was originally in the lineup at first base, returned to right field. Matt Angle, originally slated for right field, was moved to center. Chris Davis was moved from third base to first, with Josh Bell taking over at third.
