LOUIS (AP) #8212;The St. Louis Cardinals have picked up a two-year, $21million contract option with injured right-hander Adam Wainwright(notes), setting theirrotation for next season.Wainwright is rehabbing from elbow surgery in February and threw his finalbullpen session before Game 6 of the World Series on Thursday. The Cardinalsearlier picked up the option on Chris Carpenter #8217;s contra foot games ct, while Jaime Garcia(notes),Kyle Lohse(notes) and Jake Westbrook(notes) are all signed for 2012. Wainwright was 20-11 with a 2.42 ERA in 2010, made his first All-Star teamand finished second behind Philadelphia #8217;s Roy Halladay(notes) in Cy Young balloting. Heled the National League with 19 wins, 233 innings and 34 starts in 2009 and wona Gold Glove, finishing third in Cy Young voting.The foot games right-hander will be paid $9 million next season and $12 million in2012.
