The latest came in the 13th inning of a 7-4 loss that went 14 frames on Sunday night at Yankee Stadium, in the nightcap of a doubleheader. Boston's Dustin Pedroia was ruled by first-base umpire and crew chief Tim McClelland to have beaten third baseman Ramiro Pena's throw with one o football club ut and nobody on in a game tied at 4.Replays showed that Pedroia was out. Nick Swisher -- who started the game and switched from right field to first base in the 10th inning -- and Girardi weren't happy with McClelland's reaction toward Swisher after the play. That's always the big thing [with] the relationship with the umpires and players: 'You can have your say, but don't show us up.' I thought he went at Swish, and I didn't think that was right.""He did [go after me]," Swisher said. "But that's all you're going to get. I'm not going to give you anything else. I'm just sitting there; I was upset about the call, no doubt, but then I football club kind of just went right back to the bag, and that's the first time I've ever had an umpire really kind of get up in my face. So, hey, it's part of the game, emotions running wild." Swisher was called out by McClelland at first base on a double-play ball in the third inning that replays showed was also an incorrect call. Asked if that call was blown too, Swisher said to "check the replay." Said Gi football club rardi: "Pedroia was clearly out, Swish was clearly safe on the double-play ball.
