BOSTON -- Colby Rasmus likely won't rejoin the Blue Jays until this weekend when the club begins a three-game home series with the Yankees, manager John Farrell said Tuesday.Rasmus is still making his way back from a right wrist injury and has been rehabbing at Double-A New Hampshire, where he started in center field while batting second on Tuesday night."Right now, we want to get him the highest football matches number of at-bats we can while New Hampshire is still playing," Farrell said. "Whether that brings him back tomorrow or the weekend against New York -- we're probably leaning toward the weekend series back home."Rasmus was 0-for-7 with a walk in two games with New Hampshire prior to Tuesday's game. The 25-year-old outfielder hasn't played for the Blue Jays since Aug. 23 and will only have a coupl football matches e weeks to up his average with Toronto from .216. He's struck out 22 times to just three walks in 88 at-bats with the Blue Jays since coming over from St. Louis in late July. Left arm swelling keeps Escobar out of lineup BOSTON -- Shortstop Yunel Escobar was held out of the lineup in Tuesday's series opener with the Red Sox and will likely miss the next few games due to soreness in his left ar football matches m, manager John Farrell said.Escobar left Saturday's game after being hit by a pitch in the left elbow and hasn't played since. He arrived in Boston a day early and had an MRI, which revealed no structural damage, but the swelling has been more than expected. The injury is "right above the elbow, basically at the bottom of the triceps," Farrell said. "The swelling is midway down his forearm. That' football matches s the length of it. He's got some significant swelling in there. If he was capable, he'd be in the lineup, so he's still a couple of days away."With Escobar sidelined, in addition to the rehabbing Colby Rasmus still out of action and Dewayne Wise dealing with some upper respiratory issues, Tuesday's lineup featured four rookies (Eric Thames, David Cooper, Brett Lawrie and J.P. Arencibia) and newly football matches -converted outfielder Adam Loewen, who got the start in the tricky confines of Fenway Park's center field."We're pretty banged up," Farrell said. "We have a different look tonight, but that doesn't change our goal, objectives or what our expectation is -- and that is go out and put together a good game."Adam Lind and Kelly Johnson were both out of Tuesday's lineup as Farrell tried to get as many r football matches ight-handers in his lineup as he could against Boston starter Tim Wakefield, but they're both slated to start in Tuesday's 1:35 p.m. ET finale. football matches
