The Rangers on Monday exercised their $1 million club option on right-hander Yoshinori Tateyama for the 2012 season.Tateyama appeared in 39 games for the Rangers this past season, going 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA. His 3.91 strikeout-out-to-walk ratio was eighth best among American League relievers."Yoshi stepped up in the bullpen at a time the club really needed it," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels football on tv said in a statement. "He's a veteran strike thrower with outstanding makeup and we're happy to have him back."Earlier in the day, the Rangers picked up starter Colby Lewis' $3.25 million option for 2012.Tateyama made one postseason appearance for the Rangers, allowing one hit in two-thirds of an inning during Game 3 of the AL Championship Series against the Tigers. He was not on the roster for the football on tv AL Division Series or the World Series.The 35-year-old came to the United States last year after pitching for the Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan's Pacific League for 12 seasons.Tateyama's contract also includes a club option for 2013. football on tv
