CLEVELAND -- Only the injury bug could cool off Jack Hannahan. The Indians third baseman will miss "a minimum of five to seven days" with a strained left calf, manager Manny Acta revealed Monday. Hannahan exited Sunday's 9-6 win over the Royals in the third inning after experiencing discomfort when he reached on a single. He advanced to third base later in the inning, but was replaced by pinch-run football scores ner Lonnie Chisenhall."I just felt some tightness and it didn't loosen up," Hannahan said after the game. "I felt it coming out of the box."Since Aug. 1, Hannahan is batting .375 with three home runs and 13 RBIs in 22 games. With Michael Brantley, Shin-Soo Choo, Travis Hafner and Jason Kipnis already on the disabled list, Hannahan isn't a piece of the batting order the Indians can afford to lose f football scores or long."It was tough, especially him," Acta said. "He was swinging a hot bat all of August and continued to do it into September."Chisenhall will receive the brunt of the action at the hot corner during Hannahan's absence."It couldn't have come at a worse time," Acta said. "But we have to keep plugging away. It's time for Lonnie to get some more playing time and see what he can do."Chisenhall hop football scores es to pick up where his teammate left off."When I get the nod at third base, I definitely try to take advantage of it," Chisenhall said. "I don't take it for granted and just go out there and work." Kipnis optimistic about return against Tigers CLEVELAND -- Grady Sizemore returned from the disabled list Monday morning. It appears Jason Kipnis could be next to remove his name from the lengthy l football scores ist of injured Indians.Manager Manny Acta expects the second baseman -- on the 15-day DL with a right hamstring strain -- to return within the week. Kipnis is more optimistic: The rookie is eyeing a comeback as soon as Tuesday."I'm hoping to return for this series," Kipnis said.Kipnis tweaked his hamstring while stretching before a game against the White Sox on Aug. 18. He had missed four games pr football scores ior to that with an oblique injury.Kipnis participated in batting practice and other baseball-related workouts before Monday's game, after getting through running drills over the weekend. He said he won't return until he can exert himself fully without hesitating in fear of re-aggravating his hamstring injury."I need to get to the point where I'm not risking a bigger injury or am worried about mak football scores ing it worse," Kipnis said.Acta was more ambiguous about Kipnis' return, saying he could rejoin the Indians' lineup sometime this week."He's on target," Acta said. "I'm just getting started doing some light running."The running and agility tests could determine a timetable for Hafner's football scores recovery. Pronk strained a tendon on the bottom of his right foot while attempting to stretch a single into a double during an 8-7 loss to the Tigers on Aug. 21. "I don't have a timetable, but there's a good c football scores hance that I'll be able to play."Initially, the Indians feared Hafner could be out for the season, especially if it was deemed necessary for the slugger to undergo surgery. "We don't have a timetable yet, but that's encouraging news to know that he's going to join our club and be able to play again this year."
