Oct 31 (Reuters) - Veteran pitcher Derek Lowe(notes) was traded tothe Cleveland Indians from the Atlanta Braves in exchange forcash considerations and minor league pitcher Chris Jones, theteams said on Monday.The 38-year-old Lowe, who has a career record of 166-146with 85 saves and a 3.94 earned run average, will be returningto the American League for the first time since 2004. A two-time All- game football Star who helped the Boston Red Sox win theWorld Series in 2004, Lowe has also played for the SeattleMariners and Los Angeles Dodgers in a glittering Major LeagueBaseball career that began in 1997.One of just three pitchers with more than 160 wins and 80saves in the majors, Lowe went a disappointing 9-17 for theBraves last season.
