Game Day photo gallery Rexall Place was the site of two big celebrations Thursday night: an exciting shootout victory for the Edmonton Oilers over the Detroit Red Wings, and the 2009 Rally Against Cancer which raised $100,000 for cancer research and treatment.As part of NHL and NHLPA's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, the Oilers Ladies and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) spearh hockey games online eaded the successful Rally. The EOCF team and 15 Edmonton Oilers wives and girlfriends sold 5,000 team scarves, complete with an autographed player card, for $20 each throughout the concourse. All proceeds will be distributed to the Kids with Cancer Society, the Alberta Cancer Foundation, and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.-The EOCF is pleased to stand up for a cause that has impacted th hockey games online e lives of many in Oil Country,- said Natalie Minckler, Executive Director of the EOCF. -We are excited to join the NHL in this fight and offer something Oilers fans will be proud to wear in a show of their support.-To coincide with the 2009 Rally Against Cancer in-game fundraiser, the EOCF has also launched an online auction which continues until Monday, November 2, 2009 at 8:00pm MDT.
