Tom Brunansky was a member of the Twins #039; 1987 World Series championship ballclub.-(MLB Photos) MINNEAPOLIS -- The Triple-A Rochester Red Wings announced Wednesday that former Twins outfielder Tom Brunansky has been named the club's hitting coach.Brunansky, 51, was also in Minnesota's organization last season, serving as the hitting coach for Double-A New Britain. He joined the organization mock draft in 2010 as a coach with the Gulf Coast League Twins before becoming New Britain's hitting coach.Brunansky played 14 seasons in the Majors, including seven with the Twins (1982-88), and finished his career with a .245 batting average, 271 home runs and 919 RBIs in 1,800 games while also playing with the Angels, Cardinals, Red Sox and Brewers. He helped the Twins to their first World Series title in mock draft '87, batting .259 with 32 homers and 85 RBIs in 155 games. He also ranks 10th on the Twins' all-time home run list with 163.Brunansky replaces Floyd Rayford, who was dismissed after two seasons with Rochester. The Red Wings are still looking to name a replacement at manager for Tom Nieto, who was also let go after the club posted back-to-back 90-loss seasons for the first time since 1903-04." mock draft
